The Reset Button

The other day my daughter was having a problem with her school computer, she couldn’t get it to connect to her online class, and she was getting really frustrated. She took it to her dad and he simply turned it off and then back on again, and then it started working. Sometimes computers need to simply be reset.

I think it’s safe to say that in March of 2020 all of our lives changed. We all know the details of our world shutting down due to COVID 19. It has been a challenge for many, but as I look back over the last 7 months, I see how God has in some ways used it for the good, and used it to allow us to reset.

At the beginning of the shutdown we saw pollution decrease, people got outside and enjoyed nature, families spent more time together, and many people learned we don’t need everything we thought we needed. People reassessed their priorities and even made career changes. It was as if we all got to hit the reset button.

I am in no way saying that this time has been without challenges, but I do believe that good has come out of this most challenging time. And I am grateful for the reset button.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
