Psalm 88 is the one individual lament I've discovered which offers no clear resolution - either of God's act of rescue or even the assurance through faith that rescue is certain to come. In short it points us to the need for resurrection as it views death in a very grim way, but more positively gives us the example of a sufferer who despite no clear answer from God tenaciously clings to the Almighty though feeling unheard and rejected.
